It is a sexually transmitted infection that can cause serious health problems if left untreated. Syphilis is divided into 4 stages.
You catch syphilis by direct contact with a syphilis sore during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. These sores appear on or around the penis, vagina, or anus, or in the rectum, on the lips, or in the mouth. Syphilis can spread from an infected mother to her unborn baby.

After the nurse draws your blood, it will be sent to the State Lab. It takes a few days to get results.
If the result is positive, we will set up an appointment with our provider or get you a referral to see the provider of your choice.
Most times, the provider will want another blood test to determine what "stage" your disease is, and determine a course of treatment for you.
Most of the time, the treatment for Syphilis is antibiotics that we have available at our clinic
